Texas Roadhouse Birthday Dinner

On Monday we went to Texas Roadhouse for my sister in laws 17th birthday. I decided to take some pictures since I have noticed that I never take enough. I am going to start to bring my camera every where I go so I can document and scrapbook some pictures. Well, we had fun at dinner and the balloon guy made Gavin and Kaden balloon guns. Although I thought that he didn't deserve a $10 tip considering I could have done that.

The Halladay's come to town!!!

This past weekend Lynn and Jake (and baby Annabelle) came into town. I am so excited every time they come because I know we will have a blast. Plus I love playing hostess to such fun guest. We did a girls lunch on Saturday and then went to Regan's house to wait for the husbands to come over. I brought Gavin over for a little bit so that he could play with Heidi's little boy Boston. They had a great time dancing and playing with cars.( I was unable to take a picture of Heidi and me without cutting off our faces!) When the hubbys finally arrived we played catch phrase, it was so much FUN!! I can't help but laugh when we are all together. I always end up laughing so much that my cheeks hurt. We had a great weekend and I can't wait until that Halladay's come to town again.

Game Time!!

I have become a soccer mom! Troy and I went and cheered on Gavin at his first game today and it went great. Although we do live in Arizona where the weather is as hot as the surface of the sun, we bared through it to watch him score two goals. (It would have been three but the thrid one went out of bounds.) They don't really keep score in the 3-4 year olds game but we won. Although it might have had something to do with the other team only having one little girl who wanted to play. The coach made the best of it and had some of our players play for the opposing team. The coach's motto was "I coach, they play, you cheer!" I am not sure if that is a nice way of telling us to leave the coaching to him, or letting us know we shouldn't be critical if they don't make the goal. It was an incredible day and I was so glad that my sister and mother could come. I think Gavin had the most family there cheering him on, that is one awesome thing about coming from a blended family. I can't wait until next Saturday, I am afraid though that he might one day be embarrassed with his mother's constant cheering and yelling from the side lines but, for now he loves it!

MY KID IS IN PRESCHOOL!!!!

Gavin started preschool on Tuesday, and I couldn't have been more excited. I wanted him to love it and I wanted to make it a special day for him. I of course went school shopping and bought way too much but I couldn't help myself. The night before I debated over two outfits and finally came to a conclusion (I know it sounds weird but I really wanted it to be perfect)! Tuesday morning I got up early make him blueberry waffles because I thought he needed to have a hearty breakfast and because he loves them. I am making a tradition on the first day of school I will make him his favorite breakfast. Well anyway I dropped him off and he didn't even look back at me, which is exactly what I expected he has never been a clingy kid. I signed him in and pick up a few handouts and left for a few hours.

When I came back to pick him up I was so excited to hear how he did. The teacher said he did great! I wanted to take some more pictures of him but the heat was killing him and I so this is all I could get. Well all in all it was a great day and I am so excited to see the things he learns. By the way he desperately wanted me take a picture of him sticking his tongue out so that is the reason for that picture!

I know my hair is dark BUT..... NOW ITS DARKER!!

I decided to do something crazy well..... to me it was a BIG risk! I colored my hair black (or really, really, really dark brown). I have only dyed my hair three times in my life, once in seventh grade I tried blond which turned orange and once in high school. I have now ventured into the unknown world of hair dying, a world of which I love. Not everyone can tell (well mostly the men in my family, go figure!) but, now I have almost black hair. Despite my dad thinking I look like a witch and my brother in law thinking my hair was always this color, my husband likes it! It might be a small step for some but who knows what I will do next :)!!!

Two Awesome Vacations

Two weekends ago I went to Prescott with my wonderful sister Chari. We had a blast shopping and laughing. Chari and I have the ability to make each other laugh forever (mostly because we make fun of each other and ourselves!) I was excited to get away to a cooler place however; when we got there it was still 94 degrees. We took the heat in stride, well long enough to walk to the next shop. I had so much fun with her, she truly is one of the most warm hearted people I know.( I forgot my camera so no pictures from this trip... bummer)

This last week Tricia and I went to San Diego... it was WAY cooler then here. The weather was 69-75 degrees the entire time, I loved it! We of course went shopping and laid out on the beach. I would live on the beach if I had the option to. We also went boogie boarding and had so much fun. I swallowed enough salt to last a year though and by the end, the salt water made both of ours eyes so blurry we could hardly see. I love people watching on the beach you see some of the most interesting charcters. We were also able to go and have dinner with Lynn and Jake, it was so good to see them both even though are server was incompetent. I had two amazing vacations and am planning on going every year.
